However, if you're planning a trip to Lake Erie to go fishing, it's important to know when the best time is to visit. Based on Lake Erie fishing reports and historical data, we can confidently say that the summer season is the prime time for fishing on Lake Erie. From the start of our season at the end of April to its end in September we have the opportunity to fish for Walleye, Bass, and Perch. The best month for walleye fishing is July, but it gets good starting in May!
